With great sadness, we share that our beloved Penelope passed away in our hometown in Fiji. She was deeply loved by all who knew her. Beautiful, joyful, spontaneous, and full of life, Penelope taught us to cherish every moment and those we love most. She had a heart of gold and loved the Lord, her family, and her friends. Penelope was known for her style, creativity, and love of design, theatre, fine dining (always with dessert), and travel. Raised in Catholic schools, she was classy, charming, fun, and loving. She enjoyed dancing, volleyball, summers at the family lake house in Michigan, and winters in Chicago. After earning her master's degree, Penelope taught high school English in Chicago and became Teacher of the Year in her early twenties. She later met John Pito, and together they built a loving family. Penelope expressed love through cooking, sewing, thoughtful cards, and caring for others. At 79, she was baptized and grew deeply in faith. She remained active, affectionate, and always learning. She will be remembered for her beauty, warmth, faith, creativity, and deep love for her daughters. Mom, you are forever in our hearts. We will see you again in heaven.
